WOYWW (what's on your Workdesk Wednesday)

Hello friends,  This is my first post on WOYWW (what's on your Workdesk Wednesday). I'm hoping this is going to post right. Any way this is what  on mine.. my new large art journal that I got a killer price for of 5.00! I was just doing some prep work on a few sheets a few days ago.  I think its dry..lol  I got busy and just haven't been able to get back to it.

This book is huge and I already love it. Just what to do with it I'm not sure as of yet.

Aromatherapy Modeling Dough

Aromatherapy Modeling Dough
***I would recommend you do not give this dough to small children as they have a tendency to think everything is edible, or at least should be, and if its not it will fit into the DVD or Blue ray player and CD player you just got.***

1 cup flour
1 cup warm water
2tsp. cream of tartar
1tsp. cooking oil
1/4 cup salt
Essential oils of choice (One should obviously stay away from oils that could cause a serious problem to the skin, etc). If color is desired food coloring or Kool-Aid powder work well. Kool-Aid also comes in a nice color variety:)

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth. Remove dough from the pan and knead until blended smooth. If you want colors, add food coloring or a pinch of Kool-Aid now until the desired color is made. Let cool. Now to make it aromatic, I roll the dough into a ball and push a hole in it with my thumb. I then add a few drops of an essential oil (usually 1-3 to start) and knead the dough thoroughly. Sniff. Keep doing this until you get the aroma you are looking for.

Brown--Benzoin, Patchouly, or Cedarwood
Orange--Orange or Bergamot
Yellow--Lemon or Lemongrass
Green--Pine or Clary Sage
Red--Palmarosa or Geranium
Purple--Lavender or Ylang-Ylang
Light Blue--Rosemary or Eucalyptus
Dark Blue--Sandalwood or Lavender
Pink--Ylang Ylang or Grapefruit
White--Peppermint or Sweet Birch.

New Kitty

Well here is a photo of the new kitty... So hoping to find her a home.  She is litter trained :-)  and I just got done getting her vet defleaed med. So she is good to go.  And she is a total love bug!!! as you can see.

Well Im back home, went with my Hubby for a short 2 day week at work.   Came home to find  a kitten on the porch..  kids say it was there all day and my youngest even took photo just to show me just incase it was gone when we got in.   Lord another cat!!!

Saved this little one.

Ok no laughing, I found it in a bucket that I was catching water in.  I thought it was dead till I scooped it out and there was movement. I wish I still had the first vido and the pic he looked so bad. But any way he got better fast and was happy to be set free I think.. at least I hope. enjoy the clip.

trying to catch up on so much stuff and not sure if  I'm

 getting any place....spinning my wheels.  I have not worked in my book to give my mom for a bit..its so hot upstairs in the very small craft room :-(  

Besides I have not been home a lot either but I miss ding it.  Here is another photo of one of the pages in her book.

This is one of the pages I did in my book for my Mom.  I'm leaving this one bank so she can fill it in or write something in this space.  I love how simple it is and the way the colors came together. I hope she likes it.

Lemon balm and catnip

I also harvested some more lemon balm and some cat nip for Sam(kitty).  This will make a nice treat this winter. I have it all tied up and hanging in the hall steps going down to the basement- not hot not cold and nice and dark.

Onions

Pulled up another batch of onions today.  Little smaller than I wanted to see. But at least they are not rotten with all this rain we have had.  My count 13 days  11 days of rain. And its raining now again. But my sage must love it will post that too here in a min.Wont these be great in a pot of soup  :-)
